Second GT Pond Session on 7-5-2011

This are the tackles that I had used for the pond session.

1)Eupro Salty Chief pe1-2, Ryobi Arctica 4000 with 40lb PowerPro
2)GoldenMean Earthshaker pe3-4, Daiwa FreamsKix 4000 with 50 lb ygk x8 jigging line.

For this particular trip I went to Siow Chiang  at Ubi Road 4 to get the 6 inch sure catch swim bait as it produced good results when my other kaki used it on earlier session. Unfortunately the swimbait didnt work for me on that day as all the hookup by my kakis were done using rubber lure that was purchased from bro yozuri.

I was initally confident of setting hook myself as I had practiced casting the lures a at bedokr reservoir a day before the trip but I failed as I was either too fast or too slow when setting hook.  I guess i will need more practice in the pond now that my casting is a bit better than the previous session.

Lucky bro ben and bro jim was there to set hook for the fish. Without them I will be returning home without any fights from the fish just like what I experienced on my first trip there.

On that trip I managed to land 2 small GT and lost a biggie.

First hook up of the day
This first video is the burst line while using the pe1-2 set up. This was perhaps the biggest take of the day for me. The fish dived under the platform and unfortunately the set up I used doesn't have enough backbone power for me to  pump the fish out, resulting in the bursting of line as it was cut by the wooden platform under the water.

3rd hook up of the day

This video video show the last hook up I had and it was on my GoldenMean Earthshaker pe3-4 set up. The hookup was done by bro ben who passed the rod to me shortly after he had the hookup. There wasn't any problem landing this GT as it is much smaller and I was using a much heavier set up.

Will definitely be back for the next session soon. Hopefully by then I will be able to get a hook up by myself.
