CR from Ah Long(Desaru) boat, 13-03-2012

The initial plan was to head up to TU light house to aim for the queenies on jigs. All of us  were enthusiastic and had high hopes to jig for queenies. Unfortunately, a day before our trip, the boatman called Victor(Organizer) and told us to prepare bottom fishing gears as the tide and current was not in favour of us going to TU lighthouse.

We met in the wee hours of the morning and head north to JB for breakfast before going up to Desaru for our first fishing trip on board Ah Long boat.

Time passed slowly as we went around fishing for bait fish and occasionally encountering todak, and remora. The boatman successfully caught and landed 2 tenggiri in the early afternoon while the rest of us tried all sorts of method to jig and lure for it.

We only started getting our tenggiris late in the afternoon. All of us managed to hook up and land tenggiris on lures after lots of hard work and effort. The winning lure of the day was not the Jackson pintail or the Asari Pink tail.. Instead it was the Yozuri crystal minnow suspending version that landed the most fish. Soon it was time to head back to shore and we washed up briefly through the water from a well.  After washing up, we dropped by at Fishingline for some tackle shopping and a quick dinner before heading back to Singapore

Hope the weather will be ideal to jig for queenies in the future trips to come!

  1. The function that the boat is going to be utilized for is the primary deciding factor for the added equipment and accessories that you will need.
